EDGEWOOD, Md., May 2, 2025 – APG Federal Credit Union (APGFCU) welcomed over 170 member-owners and guests to its 87th annual meeting on Thursday, April 17, 2025.

Board Chairman Donald J. Burnett, COL (Ret.), highlighted the achievements of the credit union in 2024 and outlined goals for the upcoming year. During 2024, APGFCU surpassed $2.3 billion in assets and grew to over 168,000 members, while maintaining its position as the fourth-largest credit union in Maryland. Furthermore, APGFCU was recognized by Forbes as one of Maryland's Best In-State Credit Unions in 2024.

The credit union also announced the election of three individuals to the board of directors: Bernard DeMarinis, Michael Dixon and Sherif Eskaros. Each will serve a three-year term.

Following Chairman Burnett’s remarks, Liz Monti, assistant vice president of financial education, announced the recipients of the 2025 APGFCU Scholarship Awards. This year marks the 28th anniversary of APGFCU’s scholarship program. Winners were selected based on their original essay, photo or video submission, in which they shared specific ways they contributed to their community and described their plans for continuing this involvement in the future.

APGFCU awarded a total of $75,000: $2,500 each to 30 students and adults who are either graduating high school or continuing their education. They include:
