EDGEWOOD, Md., May 4, 2023 – APG Federal Credit Union (APGFCU) welcomed over 150 member-owners and guests to its 85th annual meeting on Thursday, April 20, 2023.

Chair Paul Eikenberg remarked on the credit union’s successes in 2022 and goals for the year ahead.  In addition, he recognized the service and contributions of long-time board members John A. Blomquist and Antha W. Edwards.  Blomquist has been a dedicated credit union volunteer for 30 years, most recently serving in an appointed position as chair emeritus.  Edwards has served for 31 years and did not seek re-election.

Marjorie E. Warfield, chair of the APGFCU Supervisory Committee, announced the newly elected board of directors during the meeting. From four candidate options, the three candidates elected to the APGFCU Board of Directors for a three-year term were Donald J Burnett, COL (Ret.), Emanuel C. Hatton and Timothy A. Sherwood.

Liz Monti, APGFCU financial education director, announced the recipients of the 2023 APGFCU Scholarship Awards. This year marks the 26th anniversary of APGFCU’s scholarship program. Winners were selected based on their original essay, photo or video submission where they outlined how partnering with a credit union can help them make wise financial decisions and reach their goals for the future.

APGFCU awarded a total of $72,000: $2,000 each to 36 students and adults who are either graduating high school or continuing their education.
