EDGEWOOD, Md., May 6, 2021 – APG Federal Credit Union (APGFCU) welcomed over 130 member-owners and guests to its 83rd annual meeting, held virtually on Thursday, April 22, 2021.

The meeting began with an invocation and Pledge of Allegiance performed by board member Charles N. Alston, Sr. Chairman Paul Eikenberg shared remarks of the credit union’s successes and goals for the year ahead.

Marjorie E. Warfield, chair of the APGFCU Supervisory Committee, announced the newly elected board of directors during the meeting. From four candidate options, the three candidates elected to join the APGFCU Board of Directors and serve a three-year term were Paul Eikenberg, Cheryl Rice and Wayne Taylor.

The meeting recognized the successes and achievements of long-time board member Charles N. Alston, Sr., who did not be run for re-election. He has been a dedicated credit union volunteer for 32 years.

Liz Monti, APGFCU financial education director, announced recipients of the 2021 APGFCU Scholarship Awards. This year marks APGFCU’s 24th anniversary of its scholarship program. Winners were selected based on their original photo, essay or video submission regarding how to help people achieve, prosper and grow during trying times, such as the pandemic.

APGFCU awarded a total of $70,000 to 35 students and adults who are either graduating high school or continuing their education.
