Facts about the latest text messaging scam
Nationally, cell phone users are reporting bogus text messages claiming to be from "Credit Union Services." The bogus messages ask the person to call the number provided to reactivate his or her debit / credit cards. This criminal activity is called "smishing." APG Federal Credit Union will never ask for member information using text messaging.
Debit card solicitation scam
If you receive an unsolicited phone call or text message requesting your APG Federal Credit Union 16-digit debit card number and PIN (Personal Identification Number), please do not supply the information. Never provide your Social Security number or any other personal information by phone or over the Internet unless you initiate the contact, or can confirm you're dealing with a legitimate organization.
APG Federal Credit Union will not contact you to request:

- Account numbers
- PIN (Personal Identification Number)
