David H. Gilbert Recognized as 2014 Volunteer of the Year by MDDCCUA

In June, the Maryland - DC Credit Union Association (MDDCCUA) recognized David H. Gilbert as the 2014 Volunteer of the Year. Mr. Gilbert has served as a member of the board of directors for Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union (APGFCU) for more than thirty years. He was board chairman for 20-plus years and continues as a director.
During his 45 years of service, Mr. Gilbert has been recognized throughout the credit union movement. He also serves as the volunteer director for the MD|DC Credit Union Association. He is an active leader in the National Association of Credit Union Chairmen and a charter member of the Maryland Chairman’s Forum designed to help smaller credit unions by sharing information and providing advice.
In 2009, Mr. Gilbert was honored by the National Association of Federal Credit Unions as Volunteer of the Year.
Following an undergraduate degree from Harvard University, Mr. Gilbert went on to earn a law degree from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science in Business Administration from George Washington University. He has retired from a career of civil service with the U.S. Department of the Army where he earned outstanding and exceptional service awards as a key executive.
