How APGFCU Protects You

APGFCU utilizes several tools designed to protect our members from identity theft. We offer programs like "Notify Me!", Verified by Visa, Equifax Personal Solutions and Member Photo IDs.

We also:

  • Require signatures and membership ID for address changes and cash withdrawals
  • Maintain a secure server for the website and online banking (128-bit encryption)
  • Online Banking may require you to answer your security question correctly to gain access
  • Removed your social security number from statements
  • No longer require your member/account number on the back of checks you are cashing or depositing
  • Allow members to request that an additional password be asked to them every time they call or come into a branch for identification purposes

"Notify Me!"
This new email alert feature, ""Notify Me!"", is in our Online Banking System. Members are now able to sign up for notifications that will alert you the next day when you have a low balance, an overdrawn account, and many other account notices. This is a great tool to monitor the activity in your Online Banking accounts and avoid any unauthorized transactions.

Verified by VISA®
A new service by Visa allows you to add a personal password to your existing APGFCU Visa credit or APGFCU Visa check cards. When you make purchases at participating online stores, you'll validate your identity by entering your password in a special "Verified by Visa" window. This added security will help in reducing fraud and minimizing risk sometimes associated with purchasing online. To register your Visa cards, go to the Visa section of our website and then click on the Verified by Visa logo. It's a simple way for added identity protection.

Member Photo ID
This feature is available at all our locations, we will scan your Photo ID and attach it to your account in our computer. When you come in to do your transactions, you don’t need to show your ID card or a driver’s license. The teller will simply pull up your photo and ask you to smile! Attaching your photo ID makes fraudulent access to your APGFCU accounts practically impossible. Someone may find your card in a parking lot or steal your wallet, but they can’t steal your smile. Stop in today and take this easy step to protect your identity.

Protect your credit score and credit history
