APGFCU Names Sharon Sykes New Senior Vice President, Marketing
(Aberdeen, June 23, 2010)— Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union [APGFCU], Harford and Cecil County’s largest credit union, is proud to announce that Sharon Sykes has joined the credit union’s executive management team as Senior Vice President, Marketing.
Ms. Sykes brings over 25 years marketing management experience to APGFCU. As a key member of APGFCU’s executive team, she will lead the credit union’s marketing efforts to create interest, awareness and recognition for APGFCU and its products and services. Ms. Sykes will also be responsible for planning, organizing and managing all marketing functions to achieve growth and visibility consistent with the credit union’s mission.

Prior to joining APGFCU, Ms. Sykes held executive marketing positions with the Maryland & District of Columbia Credit Union Association [MDDCUA], SECU Credit Union and Tower Federal Credit Union. Ms. Sykes is a past president of the Baltimore Chapter of the American Marketing Association.
Ms. Sykes earned an M.B.A. from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Towson University in Towson, MD. She also earned the designation of Certified Financial Marketing Professional [CFMP], a certification granted by the American Bankers Association Institute of Certified Bankers.
Ms. Sykes is a member of a number of local professional organizations and volunteers for the Alzheimer’s and American Heart Associations.
