APGFCU Awards $1,000 Scholarship to Local KidsTV News Reporter

(Aberdeen, MD, January 28, 2010) — On December 21, 2009, APGFCU Chairman David Gilbert and President/CEO Don Lewis proudly presented Mikayla Hornedo, of Edgewood, with a $1,000 48-month savings certificate “scholarship” for her role as reporter for six episodes of Kids Cents!  

Sponsored by APGFCU, Kids Cents! is a five-minute segment on KidsTV News that introduces money and savings to kids and pre-teens.  Ms. Hornedo interviewed an APGFCU “money expert” for each of the following Kids Cents! segment topics:

• What is a credit union?
• Where does money go when it is deposited?
• Making smart money choices
• Using credit wisely
• Budgeting and saving basics
• Online resources to help manage money
