(Aberdeen, December 14, 2009)— Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union [APGFCU] is collecting new books for local students as part of its annual January Jump Start to Reading Book Drive. Beginning January 1, each of APGFCU’s nine branches will accept donations of new books for deserving students ages two through 22.
“The book drive gives children the resources to develop literacy skills and experience the joy and imagination of reading. APGFCU is committed to helping change lives and to turning children into readers. This on-going initiative is a prime example of our mission to help people in our communities,” stated Tina Mike, APGFCU’s Assistant Vice President of Financial Education.
Collection bins will be located in all of APGFCU’s branch lobbies and donations will be accepted through January 31. For more information, stop in a branch or call 410-893-7359.
