(Aberdeen, October 5, 2009) — Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union [APGFCU] congratulates Dana Nunley, APGFCU’s Marketing Communications Specialist, who received the “Coordinator of the Year” award from the United Way Partnership Board of Harford County for her leadership and support on its 2009 “Live United” campaign.
Dana was selected for the regional award by a panel of United Way judges for her outstanding volunteer achievement. As Employee Campaign Coordinator, Dana organized all APGFCU employee events and fundraising activities for “Live United,” including raffles, staff meetings and payroll donations. As a result, payroll deduction donations increased 60% over last year.
Dana stated,” I’m honored to have participated. ‘Live United’ allowed me to convey to staff that no donation is too small, no effort is 'not enough'; if we all put our hands together, and 'live united', we can realize the aggregate effect of our efforts in an extraordinary way by making a real difference to the people within our community."
Involvement in the “Live United” campaign is just one of many ways APGFCU serves the local community and demonstrates its philosophy of building strong families for a stronger community.
Each year, the United Way of Central Maryland Community Partnership of Harford County awards thousands of dollars in discretionary funding to local health and human service agencies in, or serving residents of, Harford County. Dedicated to creating opportunities that change the region for the better by tackling long-term social problems, United Way is dedicated to building stronger people, stronger families, and stronger neighborhoods.
