APGFCU’s David Gilbert Named Volunteer of the Year

(Aberdeen, July 9, 2009) —David H. Gilbert, Chairman of the Board of Harford County-based APGFCU, has been named Volunteer of the Year by the National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU). Gilbert will be officially honored at NAFCU’s Annual Conference in National Harbor, MD later this month.

Gilbert has been Chairman at APGFCU for 14 years. He has served on countless specialized committees since 1969 and is recognized as an outstanding national leader of credit unions and their volunteer directors. His leadership has been recognized with ten years of service as a Director of NAFCU including an 18 month spell on the Executive Committee. When Gilbert’s national representation with NAFCU ended in 2007, he immediately took his experience and advocacy to the local level and was elected a Director of the Maryland and DC Credit Union Association.
