APGFCU Sponsors Fourth Annual Bel Air Kite Festival
(Aberdeen, April 1, 2009) —Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union [APGFCU] is proud to serve as the primary sponsor of the fourth annual Bel Air Kite Festival, at Rockfield Park on Saturday, April 11, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Kites of all shapes and sizes, from the traditional to the exotic, will set the skies over Rockfield Park ablaze with vibrant colors, and high-flying action. Avid kite enthusiasts, new kite fliers, and curious spectators of all ages are invited to bring a kite, borrow one, or pick up a free kite, courtesy of APGFCU, at the festival, while supplies last.
Held during National Kite Month in April, the festival promotes the joys of kiting as a recreational pastime and is expected to attract over 1,500 participants. It is the brainchild of local resident, Allen Ault, who does it “just for the love of kites.” The Town of Bel Air has also helped with this special event. Admission is free and open to the public, with food and beverages available on site for purchase. A rain date will not be scheduled.
