(Aberdeen, September 10, 2008) — Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union [APGFCU] members and employees donated thousands of new school supplies during its annual Back to School Supply Drive. The supplies will be distributed in September to APGFCU’s partner schools in Harford and Cecil County.
Collection bins were located at each of the credit union’s eight community branches during the month of August. Students will receive new backpacks, lunch bags, notebooks, crayons, pencils, rulers, protractors, glue sticks, and more.
Tina Mike, Education Director at APGFCU and supply drive coordinator, commented: "Due to the tremendous generosity and people helping people spirit of our APGFCU members and staff, our collection of back to school supplies once again overflowed our collection bins. As a result many more students in our community will have the supplies necessary to set the stage for their academic success. Look for another collection next year!"
