CUFMDDC Awards $1,000 Scholarship to Local APGFCU Member
(Aberdeen, June 17, 2008) — Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union [APGFCU] is proud to announce the local winner of The Credit Union Foundation of Maryland and the District of Columbia [CUFMMDC] $1,000 College Essay Scholarship for 2008. The winner, Lauren Haggerty, of Bel Air, was presented with the $1,000 check on Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at APGFCU’s branch in Edgewood. Ms. Haggerty has been an APGFCU credit union member since 1999.
Each year, CUFMDDC awards scholarships to exemplary high school and college students, under 21 years of age, who are members of credit unions in the Maryland and DC areas. This year, applicants were asked to complete a written essay on the future of credit unions in 2020.
CUFMDDC is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting credit unions and the communities they serve with an emphasis on financial literacy, small credit union support, professional development and education, and leadership development.
